David Gilmour je britský muzikant, který byl jako hlavní zpěvák a kytarista součástí skupiny Pink Floyd. Na střední škole potkal budoucího kytaristu kapely Pink Floyd Syda Barretta. V roce 1962 začal hrát v kapele Jokers Wild.

Gilmour se ke kapele Pink Floyd připojiv roku 1968. Pomohl napsat mnoho hitů, jako "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "Wish You Were Here", "Time", "Dogs", "Echoes", "Comfortably Numb", nebo "Run Like Hell". Když se v roce 1984 stal frontmanem kapely, vydali ještě dvě alba - A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) a The Division Bell (1994).

Jako sólový umělec vydal alba: David Gilmour (1978), About Face (1984), On an Island (2006) a Rattle Than Lock (2015).
